Uber's 'Uber for Teens' service was introduced with the goal of giving teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 quick, safe, and dependable transportation.
37 Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata, are currently hosting this new offering. According to the company, it developed this service to help parents feel more at ease while granting teenagers greater independence.
Strict safety protocols, including GPS tracking, real-time trip monitoring, and an in-app emergency button for users, govern how "Uber for Teens" functions. On their own Uber app, parents can view ride summaries after the trip is over and receive updates regarding the trip.
The company wants to give parents a clear sense of control and awareness of their child's movements in order to address worries about teenagers traveling alone.
Teens can be invited to create an account that connects both profiles if their parents or guardians have a confirmed Uber account. After that, teens can make independent travel reservations while their parents keep an eye on each trip. On their behalf, guardians can also request rides for their teenagers, which will appear on the teen's account.
