SpaceX and Airtel have inked a deal to introduce Starlink's satellite broadband to India. The agreement is contingent upon SpaceX receiving government approval to offer Starlink services in the nation.
According to the Airtel press release, SpaceX and Airtel will explore potential collaborations as part of this alliance.
Airtel may provide businesses with Starlink's services and sell Starlink equipment in its stores. Starlink will also be used to provide internet access to remote locations, health facilities, and rural schools. In India, Airtel and SpaceX will also investigate how SpaceX can utilize Airtel's infrastructure and how Starlink might assist Airtel's network.
Eutelsat OneWeb and Airtel already collaborate on satellite internet. Airtel will be able to reach more places with poor or nonexistent internet by integrating Starlink. Additionally, more alternatives for high-speed connectivity will be made available to communities and businesses in remote areas.
