Reliance Industries Ltd., chaired by Mukesh Ambani, said that it would strategically penetrate India's rapidly expanding gaming industry by forming a joint venture with European event organizer BLAST to enter the esports market.
BLAST Esports Ltd., a division of Denmark-based BLAST ApS, and RISE Worldwide Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Reliance, announced the cooperation with the goal of reaching India's rapidly growing player base of over 600 million.
With the help of Reliance's digital infrastructure and BLAST's production skills, the new organization will create, organize, and publicize esports events throughout India.
While creating new intellectual properties for Indian consumers, the unnamed partnership will introduce a number of BLAST's international tournament formats to India. JioGames, Reliance's gaming platform, is anticipated to stream these events, which will also involve broadcast production, publisher engagement, sponsorship activation, and competition end-to-end management.
