Swiggy introduced a “Fasting Mode” allowing users to pause food delivery notifications during fasting

Users can now halt meal delivery alerts during designated hours of religious or cultural fasting thanks to Swiggy's "Fasting Mode." Starting with Ramadan and expanding to other fasting occasions like Navratri, the business claimed that this functionality demonstrates its dedication to user-first experiences and seeks to provide more thoughtful options all year long.

After users activate Fasting Mode on the Swiggy app, they won't get any further reminders about food between Suhoor (before dawn) and 4 p.m. for Ramadan. Notifications immediately restart after the fasting hours are over, with no additional action.

"The Swiggy app allows users to turn Fasting Mode on and off at any time. Food notifications will be paused for all users who are fasting during Ramadan between Suhoor (before dawn) and 4 PM once they are active. After fasting hours, notifications automatically resume without requiring users to reactivate them, according to Swiggy.

After the daily fasting window ends, Swiggy said, the site would feature its best dishes and unique Ramadan meals, frequently with up to 50% off. A comparable model will be implemented for additional festive times.

The business claims that consumers can modify their notification selections for different religious and cultural fasting customs throughout the year.
