Swiggy introduced Swiggy Seal in 650 cities across the country to enhance food quality and hygiene standards

Swiggy has launched a new program in 650 cities nationwide dubbed the "Swiggy Seal." By doing this, the business hopes to raise the bar for food quality and cleanliness among its restaurant partners, guaranteeing that patrons will be served wholesome, safe meals. 

The project began in Pune and will spread to other cities during November 2024, according to a statement from the firm. This comes after Zomato and Swiggy increased their platform fees to Rs 10 in advance of Diwali.

A badge known as the Swiggy Seal is shown on restaurant pages within the Swiggy app, identifying establishments that adhere to strict criteria for food quality and hygiene. Restaurants must exhibit a dedication to upholding stringent food safety regulations, appropriate cooking methods, and superior packaging in order to be eligible for the Seal. 

Swiggy evaluates and selects eateries that qualify for the Seal based on data gathered from its 7 million verified customers over the previous six months. The Seal is displayed by restaurants that continuously maintain these criteria, letting patrons know that the establishment is reputable for food safety and cleanliness. 

Swiggy has made it clear that a restaurant's Seal could be withdrawn if they don't uphold these requirements.

Important areas of the initiative's focus:

1. Prevention of infection: Making certain that food is prepared to reduce the possibility of infection. 

2. Optimal Cooking Methods: Encouraging the adoption of appropriate cooking methods to guarantee that food is safe to eat. 

3. Packaging Quality: Stressing how crucial it is to provide meals in pristine packaging that preserves the food's integrity while in transit. 

According to the business, these areas of attention are essential for resolving typical worries that consumers may have regarding food hygiene while doing online orders.

Customers may experience a new level of transparency and assurance with the Swiggy Seal. Users can view which restaurants have received the Seal, a proof that they adhere to strict quality and sanitary standards, when placing food orders via the Swiggy app. 

The program aims to assist consumers in making knowledgeable choices about where to place their orders, especially in a market where concerns about food safety are on the rise.
