South Indian filter coffee secures the second spot on TasteAtlas list of top 10 coffees worldwide

Gaining recognition on a global scale, South Indian filter coffee ranks second globally on TasteAtlas' ranking of the best coffees. Famous for its distinct brewing method and deep flavour, this coffee is a mainstay in South Indian homes and is currently regarded as a worldwide favourite, surpassed only by Cuba's espresso. 

South Indian filter coffee is traditionally made using a straightforward stainless steel filter machine. The apparatus is composed of two chambers: the bottom chamber gathers the brewed coffee, while the top chamber stores the ground coffee. Strong, fragrant coffee is produced as hot water is gently poured over the coffee grounds, allowing the coffee to flow into the bottom chamber.  To guarantee a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning, many coffee lovers set up the filter overnight.
