Flipkart integrated over 10,000 EVs to fully transition to an electric last-mile logistics fleet

With more than 10,000 EVs now part of its delivery fleet, Flipkart, one of the biggest e-commerce companies in India, is moving closer to its 2030 goal of having a fleet entirely powered by electric last-mile logistics.

The milestone, which was attained after several years of gradually integrating EVs, is consistent with Flipkart's commitment to the Climate Group's EV100 project, which encourages corporate adoption of electric vehicles worldwide.

The announcement is made shortly before Flipkart's Sustainability Action Summit 2024, which will be held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on November 13.

Flipkart's efficiency has significantly increased as a result of the switch to EVs. In comparison to traditional cars, the company claims that last-mile delivery speeds have increased by 20% and that the cost per order at the hub level has fallen.

Large-scale infrastructure development, such as a collaboration with Adani Group to install 38 EV charging stations throughout important Tier-II cities, supports the advancement. These locations have 190 chargers, and there are plans to grow the network to encourage EV use among the general public.

Flipkart worked with fleet operators who were interested in EV adoption to implement a Last-Mile Aggregator model in Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu in order to further scale its EV integration.
