Bangalore International Airport Limited and Sarla partners for eVTOL aircraft, or air taxis

NewsBangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) and Sarla Aviation have partnered to investigate the possibilities of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, often known as air taxis, which might bring about a revolution in transportation for Bengaluru.
With the help of this alliance, air travel will be redefined as a quicker, more convenient, and environmentally friendly means of transportation. The partnership will concentrate on creating operational models for eVTOL aircraft with seven seats, which may drastically cut down on travel times between the airport and the city centre.
The goal of Sarla Aviation is to bring airborne ride-sharing down to the same cost as standard taxi services. They estimated that it will take only 19 minutes and cost around Rs 1700 to fly from Bengaluru airport to Electronic City. This is more affordable than existing taxi journeys, which may cost over Rs 2,500 for premium services and take more than two hours. With the use of electric flying taxis, the business hopes to cut the 1.5-hour trip time between Indiranagar and the airport down to only 5 minutes.
This effort is in line with sustainability objectives and promises to increase transportation efficiency. Compared to conventional fossil fuel-powered vehicles, electric aeroplanes are a greener option that lower carbon emissions and improve the environment.
