19th National Masters Swimming Championship to be held between November 24 and 26 in Mangaluru

News EventThe 19th National Masters Swimming Championship, which will be held at the Yemmekere International Swimming Pool in Mangaluru between November 24 and 26, is expected to draw almost 800 participants from throughout India. Under the Mangaluru Smart City Mission, Mangaluru Smart City Limited spent 24.94 crore building the pool. On November 24, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will officially open it.
Almost 700 swimmers have registered for the competition thus far, according to K. Tejomaya, the working president of the championship organising committee, who spoke with media in Mangaluru on November 13. According to Mr. Tejomaya, the registration deadline has been extended to November 15. About 150 volunteers and referees will be present.
There are dorms for both male and female participants, a gymnasium, locker rooms, restrooms, and changing areas on the mezzanine floor. There is also space designated for sports medicine, physiotherapy, and dope testing. The basement has parking available. Three acres of Yemmekere land have been developed into the new complex.
The Chief Minister will lay the groundwork for the building of two acres outside the swimming pool complex for outdoor sports like cricket after opening the new pool.
