Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav concluded on Sunday showcasing vibrant celebration of Northeast Indias diverse heritage

News EventThe first edition of "Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav" took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi from February 8–11, 2024, and was a magnificent cultural experience. The event, which is being organised by Northeastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Limited (NEHHDC), a CPSE of the Ministry of Development of the Northeastern Region, is expected to be a lively celebration of the region's rich cultural legacy. The four-day festival, which was slated to run from 10 AM to 8 PM, was a component of Udyan Utsav 2024 and would highlight the diverse range of the area's artistic, gastronomic, and cultural heritage.
The goal of the occasion, which was graced by the Hon. Minister of DoNER, Culture, and Tourism and opened by the Hon. President of India, is to promote economic prospects while honouring the uniqueness of Indian culture.
"Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav"'s first chapter was devoted to paying tribute to the Ashtalaxmi, the eight states of the Northeastern Region that are rich in culture. At the event, more than 320 weavers, artists, farmers, and business owners will come together to showcase their agri-horticultural goods and handicrafts at eight state-specific stalls.
The Mahotsav featured captivating performances by 350 artists, showcasing traditional dances such as the Wangala Dance of Meghalaya, the Mungwanta Dance of Nagaland, and the Bihu Dance of Assam. Additionally, food stalls offering a diverse range of culinary delights will tantalize visitors’ taste buds, providing a culinary journey through Northeast India. Moreover, engaging activities like the Kids Activity Zone and Youth Engagement Zone will offer novel experiences while promoting awareness of the region’s historical and cultural heritage.
