The Krishi Mela will have a "seed festival" for the first time, according to UAS Vice-Chancellor SV Suresh, who made this announcement during a press conference on Wednesday.
Over 1,500 acres of land have been turned over to the cultivation of seeds by hundreds of farmers working with experts.
According to Mr. Suresh, plans have been established to see the mela's scheduled programmes on social media and to resolve questions about agriculture through virtual meetings.
He went on to say that teaching farmers how to cultivate drought-tolerant crops will be the main goal. Furthermore, five new crop kinds that may be harvested in three and a half years will be released: red jackfruit, sunflower, baragu, saame, and ragi.
He continued by saying that over 9.5 crore transactions were made at the exhibition last year, which drew about 17 lakh visitors. This year, more people are anticipated to attend the expo. Furthermore, a rise in turnover is anticipated. The emphasis will be on millets and drought-tolerant agriculture methods. This year, millets and drought-friendly agricultural technology will be the main draws.
