Uber has launched its first water transport service in India - Uber Shikara, in Srinagar

The American ride-hailing behemoth Uber has introduced Uber Shikara, its first water transportation service in India, allowing visitors to conveniently reserve shikara rides on Srinagar's famous Dal Lake in advance via its app.

With comparable services offered in European cities like Venice, Italy, this is Uber's first water-based service in Asia.

Uber Shikara rides can carry up to four passengers for one-hour journeys and are booked daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Uber Reserve function in the app allows users to book their rides 12 hours to 15 days in advance.

The service seeks to save guests from the burden of last-minute planning so they may concentrate on Dal Lake's tranquil beauty.

Booking Process:

1. Get the latest version of the app.  

2. Assign "Shikara Ghat No. 16" as the location for pickup and drop-off.  

3. Decide on a preferred time and date.  

4. Pick Uber Shikara, then confirm the reservation.
