NewsVisa, a pioneer in digital payments worldwide, and the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), which is part of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The $1 million-plus three-year cooperation intends to upskill at least 20,000 Indian youth in skills related to tourism.
In the presence of Shri Jayant Chaudhary, the Government of India's Minister of State for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the program was finalized.
The relationship between Visa and THSC is an expansion of Visa's current partnership with the Ministry of Tourism.
Ten Indian states, including Assam, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and West Bengal, are to send youth there to receive training in order to improve the quality of service provided to visitors overall.
The curriculum will concentrate on key positions in the domestic tourism sector, including tour guides, executives in charge of customer service, naturalists, and tandem paragliding pilots.
