The Sixth Covai Flower Show is underway at the expansive 25-acre Botanical Garden of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU). After an 11-year hiatus, the TNAU has brought back the flower display in collaboration with six Coimbatore Rotary Clubs. Specifically, for this reason, the institution had imported 5,000 tulips from the Netherlands.
Students and other guests, mostly children, were spotted taking photographs in front of the red rose and anthurium-adorned Valentine's Day heart on Friday, the opening day of the exhibition. The three-day event's theme, "Let Your Dreams Blossom," inspired creative students to come up with and display flower arrangements that included a lawn tennis court, a swan made out of roses and chrysanthemums, and the late, great vocalist S.P. Balasubrahmanyam.
There are stalls selling a range of plants, such as roses, jasmine, hibiscus, chrysanthemums, balsam, succulents, bougainvillea, pentas, and areca palms, for those who love gardening. The well-cultivated small trees on the exhibit are bonsai trees.
There is a fleet of Austin 8, Plymouth Savoy, and Studebaker Champion vehicles for fans of vintage cars. Dog shows, yoga classes, and cultural events are available for those who enjoy excitement and movement. There are Japanese Sunken Gardens and bamboo gardens for individuals who are eager to get closer to nature.
A swan sculpture made with roses and chrysanthemums, chessboard made of millets, floral picturisations of the Chandrayaan III Vikram lander, Jallikattu, and many other floral representations of musical instruments figure, animals are a few of them displayed at the show.
