Pre sale ticket counter opened for ‘Vasantholsavam - New Year Illumination 2023’ in Thiruvananthapuram

For "Vasantholsavam - New Year Illumination 2023," which marks the beginning of Christmas and New Year celebrations, the department of tourism has opened the pre-sale ticket counter at Thiruvananthapuram's Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds.

Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran opened the counter by selling the first ticket to the flower and light festival and giving it to MLA V.K. Prasanth.

Large-scale preparations have been made for the sparkling visual treat with the theme "Illuminating Joy, Spreading Harmony" in order to intensify the holiday spirit starting on December 24. The State-level inauguration of the city's illumination will include P.A. Mohamed Riyas, Minister of Tourism, as the special guest.

In addition to tree wrapping lights and special effect lightings on the ground, the Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds, which are expected to be a popular destination for nightlife, will feature specially created and theme-based installations at the main gateway and in and around the expansive mound. These features will further enhance the festive atmosphere of the entire property.

Entrance arches, installations showing Santa Claus riding his reindeer chariot, glittering Christmas trees, shooting stars, lighted tunnels, hot air balloons, floral designs, illuminated lawns, a rose garden with lights, a children's area, butterfly swings, walkway arches, and light boards are just a few of the festive touches that will add to the season's charm.

According to Ms. Rajendran, the purpose of the Christmas-New Year's week celebrations is to provide people a chance to gather together and share their joy. She also gave off the impression that, in contrast to previous year, more people would show up at the location. At the inauguration event, Shyam Krishnan, the secretary of the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), assistant director of Kerala Tourism Anitha, and deputy director Rajeev G.L. were also in attendance.
