Flipkart prepares for 10-minute medicine delivery service in select metropolitan areas
04 Dec 2024
NewsFlipkart is getting ready to launch a 10-minute medication delivery service in a few major cities. The action might make the online retailer the first to offer prescription medication delivery in the fast commerce space.
It is noteworthy that this would directly compete with well-known companies in the quick-delivery and online pharmacy sectors, including PharmEasy, Tata-owned 1mg, and Reliance-backed Netmeds.
The new project complements Flipkart Minutes, the company's rapid commerce division, which is growing more widely.
Flipkart Minutes was first introduced in Bengaluru in August 2024. Since then, it has expanded to Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, with plans to add Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
Currently, the service offers a large assortment of products and free deliveries in partnership with Kirana stores and grocers.
Flipkart will collaborate with authorized local chemists in order to adhere to India's strict drug laws, which prohibit foreign-backed e-commerce sites from keeping inventory.
