NewsThe Ministry of Labour and Employment and Amazon India have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to utilise the National Career Service (NCS) website. Through this cooperation, job openings will be posted on the NCS platform by Amazon and its staffing agencies, with the goal of improving employment accessibility. It is noteworthy that Amazon is the first online retailer to work with the Ministry of Labour and Employment on the NCS portal.
Job seekers from all around the nation will be able to apply for a variety of positions at Amazon and its related companies thanks to this effort. The partnership, which links companies and job seekers via a single platform, represents a major step towards closing the employment gap.
In its corporate headquarters and throughout its network of businesses, Amazon India will periodically publish job openings for positions in customer service, technology, and logistics. With over 87 lakh active applicants on the NCS site as of FY 2024, the business intends to reach out to a sizable pool of job seekers enrolled there.
The partnership's emphasis on encouraging inclusion in the workforce is one of its most noteworthy features. In order to guarantee equitable job opportunities for women, people with disabilities, and applicants from a variety of backgrounds, Amazon and the Ministry will collaborate.
Additionally, the MoU would enable direct communication between job seekers and Amazon's recruiting teams by organising job fairs at Model Career Centres (MCCs), which will assist hiring locally.
