Tata Group's Air India has launched Wi-Fi internet connectivity on its domestic and international flights, available on select aircraft in its fleet. This makes Air India the first Indian airline to provide internet access on domestic flights.
During a limited introductory period, Wi-Fi will be free of charge on domestic flights operated by certain aircraft. The airline did not disclose how long the introductory offer would last. In the future, Air India plans to extend this service to more aircraft in its fleet.
Currently, Wi-Fi will be available on Air India's Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft. The airline had already been providing internet connectivity on international flights with these aircraft as part of an ongoing pilot program.
