46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee will be held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from July 21-31

News EventThe Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi will host the 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which India is hosting from July 21–31. According to a senior official, more than 2,500 participants from State Parties, advisory bodies, senior diplomats, specialists in heritage, academics, and researchers from 195 nations will be present at the event. The nations that have ratified the World Heritage Convention are known as State Parties.
UNESCO has already made available a tentative schedule and agenda for the summit.
Elected by the UNESCO General Assembly, delegates from 21 States Parties to the World Heritage Convention (1972) make up the World Heritage Committee.
India is home to forty-two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In September 2023, Santiniketan, founded by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, was designated as India's forty-first world historic site.
