News EventThe 42nd conference of the Astronomical Society of India will take place in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, and is expected to be the largest yearly gathering of astronomers from India. Scientific talks about the Sun, planets, black holes, and other celestial bodies will take place from January 31 to February 4, as announced by the Astronomical Society of India. There are expected to be 750 astronomers present. Visitors and schoolchildren who will be able to participate in a variety of activities throughout the week have been considered in the separate planning of several events.
The Astronomical Society of India's Public Outreach and Education Committee is collaborating with regional organisers and the astronomy sector to offer widely attended talks on subjects ranging from space exploration to how astronomy shapes time and calendars. There will be talks about astrophotography, the need of protecting the sky's legacy, and a special presentation on the night skies of the Indian Himalayas. Events for observing the sun and night sky have been scheduled, and the J.N. Planetarium is planning a star party. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and J.N. Planetarium are organising the Astronomical Society of India meeting together. The event will formally open in the J.N. Tata auditorium, IISc, on February 1 at 9 a.m.
