The Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishat is organising the 16th District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, which is scheduled to take place on December 5 and 6 at the Viveka Educational Institution in Kota. State Parishat President Mahesh Joshi will officially open the sammelana on December 5 at 10.30 a.m., under the direction of scholar and researcher Babu Shiva Poojari, according to an official announcement from Udupi.
District manager The district president of Parishat, Neelavara Surendra Adiga, will give the introduction speech, and Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar will start the cultural activities. Former President of State Parishat, Harikrishna Punaroor, will release books, while P. Prabhakara Maiyya, the chairman of Kota Vidya Sangha, will open book booths.
Attendees will include Deputy Commissioner K. Vidyakumari, Viveka PU College Principal Jagadisha Navada, scholar A.V. Navada, and MLAs A. Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Gururaj Shetty Gantihole, and Yashpal Suvarna. Prior to the official opening, there will be a town procession from the Guru Narasimha Temple in Saligrama to the Sammelana site. At 9.15 a.m., Temple Management Committee President K.S. Karantha will give the go-ahead.
On December 6, at 3.30 p.m., literary critic Raghavendra Rao Kapu will give the valedictory speech. Mr. Adiga, the president of the district parithat, will preside over the event.
