Tata Motors on Wednesday inked a pact to build the company's first vehicle manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu

NewsMK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, and representatives of Tata Motors signed an agreement on Wednesday to invest Rs 9,000 crore to construct the company's first vehicle manufacturing plant in the state. TRB Rajaa, the state's minister of industries, predicted that the manufacturing facility will create 5,000 new employment.
Notably, VinFast, a Vietnamese producer of electric vehicles (EVs), chose to invest in Tamil Nadu and locate its production plant in Thoothukudi earlier in January of this year. This would be the first Indian production location for the corporation.
