Swiggy, a leading foodtech company with headquarters in Bengaluru, has launched a new premium grocery vertical named "Handpicked" under its Instamart rapid commerce platform. The new business promises to deliver luxury products that are locally produced, organic, and fresh off the farm.
Handpicked, located in the lower right corner of the Swiggy Instamart app, offers a carefully chosen assortment of premium goods, such as freshly baked bread, biscuits and paneer that is cooked at home, as well as a range of speciality items like oriental sauces and spices from across the world.
Instamart and the service combined in March. Furthermore, Swiggy operated a Handpicked service that provided luxury goods with next-day delivery but was discontinued in May 2023.
Handpicked has relaunched with an emphasis on authenticity, uniqueness, and freshness. It now offers on-demand delivery in less than ten minutes and is incorporated into the fast commerce paradigm.
More than 500 companies are included in Handpicked, including well-known regional and national brands as Masterchow, Sweet Karam Coffee, Blue Tokai, The Whole Truth, and Iyengar's. The service features a blend of conventional and modern brands, clean-label items, and gourmet selections with an emphasis on locally sourced goods. This carefully chosen assortment seeks to offer a substitute for mass-produced items.
Handpicked is currently available in Bengaluru. Soon, Swiggy intends to bring this service to Mumbai and Delhi.
