Citynect co-founder Hemant Solanki had a difficult start since he had to learn about the market and the solutions that other companies in the PG and hostel area were currently offering. He discovered via his investigation that the majority of PGs and hostels did not serve working individuals who want a little more independence and privacy, but rather catered mostly to students. Building a reliable community was a major additional task. Hemant moved away from Facebook and set up a group on WhatsApp in order to be more in control and get rid of unwanted members.

Citynect facilitates the search for lodging options such as corporate stay homes, bachelor's private apartments, shared PGs for working professionals, and pre-occupied flats (Main Category). He underlines that Citynect is a special platform that allows tenants to interact directly with one another, and that it is geared on assisting bachelors, especially working professionals. Hemant continues, "That's our unique selling point."

Users who wish to utilise Citynect's services must pay an upfront subscription fee. The platform is subscription-based. The business thinks that by providing more services like rent agreements and online background checks, it will be able to raise the price per ticket. Hemant claims that Citynect allows landlords to contact directly with tenants and avoid paying brokerage costs by listing houses that are suitable for bachelors.

The business says it has assisted more than a thousand bachelors in Ahmedabad with housing searches. Since it started providing premium services, it has gained over 250 users and produced pre-revenue of almost Rs 2.5 lakh.
