Sri Lanka’s PickMe partners with India's PhonePe to offer UPI-based QR payments for Indian travellers in Sri Lanka

Leading ride-hailing company PickMe in Sri Lanka has partnered with India's largest UPI payments company PhonePe to provide Indian tourists visiting Sri Lanka with UPI-based QR payments. By offering the ease of cashless transactions, the alliance hopes to improve the travel experience for visitors from India. Indian travellers may use the safe and well-respected UPI payment method made possible by PhonePe to enjoy hassle-free transportation with PickMe as soon as they leave Bandaranaike International Airport.

With the integration of PhonePe's UPI-based QR payment method onto its platform, PickMe hopes to alleviate Indian tourists' anxiety around carrying cash and foreign money. The Sri Lanka-based firm thinks that the ability to pay with cashless methods improves travellers' entire travel experiences by making ride-hailing safer and more convenient.

The collaboration is in line with PhonePe's overarching aim to streamline financial transactions for Indian travellers overseas.
