Semicon India 2024 is being organised from September 11 to 13 with the theme ‘Shaping the Semiconductor Future

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, made a strong case for India's capacity to produce semiconductors at a major speech at SEMICON India 2024, which was held outside of the country's capital. He stressed the vital role that supply chain resilience plays in the global economy.

In reference to semiconductor manufacturing, Modi emphasized that India has already obtained investments totaling more than ₹1.5 lakh crore. With other new projects planned to spur growth even further, this is a significant step towards establishing India as a global hub for semiconductors.

Building robust supply chains across several sectors is crucial, as Modi emphasized, taking a cue from the supply chain disruptions that occurred during the COVID-19 epidemic. In order to prevent any global shocks, he emphasized India's efforts to fortify its own supply chains, particularly in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

The government hopes to see an Indian-made semiconductor chip in every electronic device in the world, according to the Prime Minister's audacious vision for India. This demonstrates India's desire to take the lead in the world's semiconductor supply chain.

Modi also outlined the three main drivers of India's objectives in the semiconductor industry: a government committed to reform, a strong and expanding industrial sector, and a tech-savvy consumer base ready to embrace cutting-edge advancements. These, which he called the "Three-D Power," offer a solid basis for the semiconductor sector in India.

PM Modi promoted India as a dependable and alluring location for semiconductor investments by highlighting the nation's enduring laws, progressive administration, and growing manufacturing sector. He gave investors around the world his word that India would take all necessary steps to become a semiconductor powerhouse.
