Reliance Retail has begun piloting an immediate delivery service for groceries and FMCG in select areas of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai

NewsReliance Retail is purportedly entering the battle for speedy commerce. In certain parts of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, the business has started testing an instant delivery service for groceries and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), with the goal of completing orders in an hour.
According to the report, the "hyperlocal delivery" option in the JioMart mobile application incorporates the fast-delivery service. As more stores are connected to the system, Reliance hopes to cut delivery times to between thirty and forty-five minutes. Daily needs acquired online from Reliance currently have the shortest delivery times, averaging about 12 hours, while certain items might take up to 3 days.
Due to the requirement for a larger delivery fleet and a greater penetration of dark shops, Reliance does not currently have plans to enter the 10-minute grocery delivery business. Rather, orders will be fulfilled from its vast network of more than 3,500 shops and warehouses. Reliance intends to cooperate with Kirana stores under the JioMart Partner programme in regions with sparse store networks.
