PhonePe's Indus Appstore has launched a new AI-powered voice search function that improves the user experience by allowing searches in ten Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, as well as English. The functionality seeks to make app discovery more accessible and tailored for users with diverse linguistic backgrounds.
The voice search tool is intended to appeal to a varied user base. It allows users to search for apps and games in their local language.
According to PhonePe, the function uses advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to effectively distinguish different dialects and speech patterns.
This guarantees that the search results are relevant and exact, tailored to each user's specific needs and tastes. The system intends to address specific issues in text-based searches in regional languages, which frequently require unique keyboards and can be complex.
Indus Appstore, which began in February as a competitor to Google Play Store, provides a platform for developers to list their apps in 12 Indian languages, as well as tools for efficiently promoting and managing their products. Indus Appstore does not charge a fee for in-app purchases and intends to build its own in-app billing and cataloging solutions.
