NewsPM Modi, on Monday, observed agricultural drone demos carried out by Namo Drone Didis at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute. Rural women are trained to use drones for agricultural reasons as part of the initiative. The initiative intends to increase women's financial autonomy and economic empowerment, particularly in rural regions.
The project aims to provide agricultural drones to 15,000 women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to help with chores including seeding, fertiliser spraying, and crop monitoring. Many women will also benefit from this in terms of new economic prospects.
