NewsAn open mobility app called Namma Yatri has started a new program to help Bengaluru and Chennai's taxi and auto drivers' children with their schooling. The goal of the scholarship program, "Namma Yatri Rising Stars," is to give 10th and 12th grade students financial support. The program addresses any financial obstacles that would prevent individuals from pursuing further education while also recognising their academic accomplishments.
The Namma Yatri Rising Stars program aims to elevate more than 500 pupils a year. One such recipient is Bhavana, the daughter of Siddegowda, a Bengaluru-based vehicle driver for Namma Yatri. Scholarships were given out during ceremonies in Chennai and Bengaluru. Students participated in cultural activities and shared their objectives at the Bengaluru event.
Along with heads of driver unions, T. Abraham IAS, Commissioner of Technical Education, and M. Arun Prakash, Founder & CEO of Guvi, presided over the ceremony in Chennai. A stringent selection procedure was employed to guarantee that the scholarships were awarded to the most worthy applicants.
Namma Yatri distinguishes itself from other ride-hailing businesses by putting its drivers' well-being first. This includes programs like the Mahila Shakti Program, which empowers women drivers, financial education, zero-commission rides, awareness of government assistance systems, flexible work schedules, and now, educational scholarships for their children.
