IIT Roorkee signs MoU with Micron; aims to foster innovation and develop a highly skilled workforce

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by Micron and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. The collaboration intends to support innovation and create a highly qualified labour force within the nation's expanding electronics industry. The collaboration made it possible for the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIT Roorkee to open the Micron Semiconductor Lab. 

The lab will serve as a major hub for semiconductor technology research and development, giving students practical experience and access to tools and procedures that are used by the industry. The partnership between Micron and IIT Roorkee consists of a wide range of initiatives designed to close the knowledge gap between academics and the semiconductor sector. These include promoting technology-related research, providing chances for hands-on learning through fellowships and internships, and assisting with training that is pertinent to the sector. 

Specialised master's and doctorate degree programmes will be supported by an expanded curriculum and a committed faculty, who will also assist students in their technological growth.
