The world's leading Conversation Cloud - Gupshup has introduced what it describes as the first Conversational Buyer App in India on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
The declaration was given during Delhi's Conversations 2024 event. Without downloading any extra mobile apps, customers can find, explore, and buy items from vendors on the ONDC network using the app's conversational interface, which is based on WhatsApp.
With this app, users can explore local merchants, order food, pay with WhatsApp immediately, and share their location via chat.
The app is still in beta and has restricted functionality; it is mostly used for ordering food and drinks, including biryani. Support for other conversational channels like Google RCS and Voice is reportedly on the way, according to Gupshup.
According to the business, enterprise clients of Gupshup that wish to include conversational commerce into their chatbots will also be able to utilise this feature.
