NewsThe artificial colours used for Holi festival are bad for the environment as well as your skin and body. The chemicals used to prepare them have the potential to contaminate water supplies, leach into the earth, and worsen air pollution. The harmful effects of the synthetic colours thus tarnish the exuberance of the colourful festival. So, try some good organic colour over the bad synthetic ones this Holi season.
Two brothers from Mumbai, who have devoted over ten years to the preservation of nature, devised a way to address this issue. Under the umbrella company "Monks Bouffe," which distributes organic rice, maize, and natural Holi colours among other products, Gaurang and Saurabh Motta founded "Abeer Holi Colours.” Not only are these hues natural, but they can also be eaten. The Bhil tribe made them using flowers and no other ingredients.
Gaurang claims that the colours are made from edible materials and are entirely natural. The foundation is made of flour made from maize that the community grows. The Palash flower, which is prolific in the area between March and April, is the source of the orange hue. Palash flowers are combined with a hint of turmeric to create our golden colour. Green colours are created by combining different types of forest leaves. The pink shade is made with Ganganagri Rose and a tiny bit of dried beetroot. The firm works with several wholesale partners that offer these items as well as consumers from other regions of the country, but its main clientele is from Maharashtra.
