Delhi nursery admissions 2023; parents can check the merit list from the official website

The Delhi nursery admissions 2023 are in process and on Monday, a few of the private schools in Delhi are likely to release the second merit list of students who have been shortlisted for admission to entry-level classes.

Once released, parents can check the merit list from the official website - edudel.nic.in. It will also be available on the notice boards of the respective schools.

Many have already completed the application process with the release of the first merit list on January 20.

According to RC Jain, the president of Delhi State Public School's Management Association, many schools do not publish a waiting list or a second merit list of applicants because the available seats are filled following the initial drawing of lots.

The drawing of lots is captured on camera, and the school keeps the video. Before being placed in the box used for the drawing of lots, the slips are first shown to the parents.

DELHI NURSERY ADMISSIONS 2023 RULES

To apply for nursery entrance, a kid must be at least four years old. As of March 31, 2023, the age requirement is five years old for kindergarten entrance and at least six years old for Class 1.

For the academic year 2023–24, registration for entry-level classes at more than 1,800 private schools in Delhi opened on December 1 and closed on December 23. 

The Department of Education had stated that an admission registration fee of Rs 25 could be imposed. It had said that parents' purchasing of a school prospectus would be optional.

The circular states that all private schools would reserve 25% of seats students from economically weaker backgrounds, and disadvantaged groups, including children with disabilities.
