NewsThe Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will issue daily, weekly, and monthly passes digitally from September 15. According to BMTC authorities, this action attempts to improve commuter convenience by offering a hassle-free, cashless, paperless, and contactless pass buying experience. Passes are available from the BMTC in digital and pre-printed versions. Passengers will now have to buy their passes only via the Tummoc smartphone app, which puts the transaction right at their fingertips. Although day tickets can still be purchased by conductor-operated electronic ticketing machines, the digital option through the Tummoc application will soon become the norm.
According to a statement, commuters must download the Tummoc app from the Google Play Store, register, choose between a daily, weekly, or monthly pass, fill out the required information, submit a photo, and confirm their pass selection in order to acquire a digital pass. The pass will be issued as soon as the payment has been properly processed. Travellers must have a designated ID card with them at all times. They can use their phone to scan the QR code posted on the bus to validate their pass.
