Twenty-four firms were chosen to take part in the inaugural space accelerator programme in India, which was sponsored by Amazon-owned Amazon Web Services (AWS). The goal of the programme, known as AWS Space Accelerator: India, is to promote innovation and industry expansion in the space technology (spacetech) industry.
The 14-week programme offers industry mentorship, specialised AWS training, and technical competence. The accelerator was chosen after a strict procedure. Based on their inventive ideas, product-market fit, sustainability, and inventive use of AWS technology, startups were selected. The assessment also took the teams' capacity to carry out their plan into account.
The 24 firms that were chosen include a range of space industry sectors, such as satellite photography, weather analysis, satellite propulsion, launch and orbital vehicles, and space tourism. These businesses hail not just from big cities but from other places like Thoothukudi, Mangaluru, and Port Blair.
The startups on the shortlist are: Advick Agventure, AERO2ASTRO, Aeroin SpaceTech Pvt. Ltd., Agnihotri Aerospace, AkashaLabdhi Pvt. Ltd., Brahmaandco Spacetech, Blurgs AI, CoralComp Pvt. Ltd., Inbound Aerospace, Insight360.ai, KosmosOne, Omspace Rocket and Exploration, Onnes Cryogenics Pvt. Ltd., Pramatra Space, Satlabs Space Systems, Sisir Radar, Space Aura, SpanTrik, Taramandal, and Thrustworks Dynetics.v
Along with substantial help to build and grow their ideas, the chosen firms will receive cumulative AWS credits worth up to $100,000.
The assistance include the use of cutting-edge technology such as data analytics, machine learning, and generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Startups will also get advice on principles of business, funding, and go-to-market tactics, giving them the tools they need to thrive in the cutthroat digital industry.
