Works of the Bengaluru Metro line connecting the city to Kempegowda International Airport Ltd will be completed by around June 2026

NewsAccording to Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar, construction on the Bengaluru Metro line connecting the city to Kempegowda International Airport Ltd (KIAL) at Devanahalli would be finished by about June 2026.
As part of Phase-2B of the Bengaluru Metro construction, the line between Kasturinagar and KIAL is being built. It will feature 17 stops and be a part of the Blue Line.
The minister stated, "Airport line will be finished by June 2026, plus or minus three months." Around the same time, the Silk Board to K R Puram line (Phase 2A) will also be finished.
Following a meeting with representatives of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), Shivakumar gave a press conference. Among other lines, the Kengeri-Challaghatta extension would be finished by August or September, while the construction linking Baiyappanahalli Metro Station with K R Puram will be finished by July. By September or October, the expansion from Nagasandra to Madawara would be finished, according to Shivakumar.
According to the minister, the Yellow Line from Bommasandra to R V Road would be finished in October or November.
Additionally, the state administration has requested permission from the Centre to begin development on additional Metro stages. According to him, surveys are also being conducted for the Phase 3A line from Hebbal to Sarjapur Road.
The BMRCL is also considering ways to boost its revenue. He stated, "Posting ads inside and outside Metro coaches is being discussed," and added that any policy obstacles standing in the way of this will be removed.
