PhonePe's hyperlocal delivery app, Pincode, has increased its reach in the healthcare industry by introducing a 24-hour online medication delivery service in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune.
The UPI payments giant hopes that this launch would provide access to essential pharmaceuticals at any time of day by delivering prescription and over-the-counter medications from local pharmacies in less than ten minutes.
The dark-store model that predominates in India's e-pharmacy market is broken by this most recent innovation. Rather, Pincode is focusing its fulfillment and logistics approach on local pharmacies.
The startup hopes to guarantee quick deliveries and assist small companies in adjusting to the digital economy by establishing unique ties with neighborhood pharmacies.
Pincode provides free teleconsultations for users without a prescription in an effort to increase access and expedite compliance. The 'no prescription' option is available to customers at checkout, and a certified doctor will get in touch with them. In accordance with Indian telemedicine regulations, a digital prescription is provided based on the consultation.
The service, according to the Bengaluru-based startup, is intended to fill an increasing need in easily accessible healthcare, especially for people with mobility issues, urgent drug needs, or chronic diseases.
