NewsThe Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has yet to open Vizag Square, a pedestrian-friendly zone inspired by tactical urbanism. However, it has been a source of concern for traffic officers, who are concerned that it may lead to even more traffic congestion.
"Because the space is beautifully decorated with colourful lights and a selfie point, people driving down the Siripuram route are stopping to see what's going on." A traffic officer has been assigned to guarantee that people do not halt on the road. Another traffic cop stated that the company might have built up the leisure zone in a different location, such as an empty place within the Andhra University borders, rather than one of the city's busiest locations. He believes the GVMC should at least consider developing a parking spot for Vizag Square tourists.
Meanwhile, Vizag Square has become the buzz of the town since the furniture and selfie point, as well as the lighting was installed. People of all ages are coming in the evenings to spend time with family and friends over a cup of coffee or ice cream. The area has also become in popularity among social media influencers who film their reels here.
