NewsVinayaka Chavithi festivities, which are being held at various locations around Vishaapatanam by the local groups, got off to a vibrant start on Monday. Depending on the organisers' funding, the celebrations will go on at the pandals for 1, 3, 5, 9, 11 days, and so on. While people celebrated the event at home in the morning, they often go to the pandals with their family in the evening to pray and take part in the celebrations. The rain that fell on Monday at dusk in many parts of the city this year depressed both the organisers and the attendees.
On Sunday night, the political party leaders presented clay idols to the populace. In eco-friendly bags bearing the names of the concerned leaders, their followers distributed the idols as they drove about the city in small vehicles. Their kind act was valued since it promoted the idea of going green.
The planners of the pandal came up with creative strategies to draw in the crowd. A few of the organisers created pandals to display their political allegiances and fervour for their leaders. The majestic 117-foot-tall Lord Ganesh statue at Gajuwaka's Lanka Grounds is attracting sizable crowds.
The team of artists created the idol out of clay and hay over the course of around two months. After 21 days of darshan by devotees, the statue would be sprayed with water and submerged in the ground. PDS Mobile Distributors Union erected a 108-foot panchamukha statue of Ganesha in Dondaparthy. It was intimidating to see the statue of Ganesha holding a mace and wearing a sesh nag (serpent) on his head. Devotees must twist their necks to see Ganesha's head, though, due to the pandal's limited size.
