The seventh International Jellyfish Blooms Symposium will begin in Kovalam on Tuesday

NewsTuesday will be marking the start of the seventh International Jellyfish Blooms Symposium (JBS7) in Kovalam. The University of Kerala's vice-chancellor, Mohanan Kunnummal, will open the conference at Kovalam's Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel. The Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala, and ICAR—Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute—are co-organizers of the conference, which runs through Saturday. (CMFRI).
Up to 200 participants will give papers during the conference, 110 of them are international specialists from 30 different countries. From Wednesday through Saturday, the events will take place at Kovalam's Arts & Crafts Village.
Mark John Gibbons, a professor at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, will give a public lecture titled "Jellyfish, People, and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals" on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club.
