The Registering and Licensing Authority will not be receiving offline applications for 14 services that were made online from June 1 onwards

The Registering and Licencing Authority will stop accepting offline applications for 14 services starting on June 1 if they were submitted online starting on March 14.

However, applications for the remaining offline services will only be accepted at the RLA office if prior online appointments have been made through the website of the transport department.

Online services offered include, among others, fitness certificate issuance and renewal, duplicate registration certificate (RC) issuance, vehicle ownership transfer, registration of vehicles purchased at public auctions, address change on RC, removal, addition, or continuation of hypothecation, issuance of NOC, cancellation of RC, and updating mobile number in RC.

The whole procedure is available online at http://chdtransport.gov.in/, where applicants may apply for the 14 services listed under the "Faceless Services" option, make an electronic payment, and submit supporting documentation.

The transport department, according to Singh, has made all paperwork readily available on its website and has a step-by-step instruction manual available for all services.

Additionally, the department has established two helplines at 0172-270-5270 and 0172-270-6270 to answer questions about contactless services.

Through the Parivahan portal or mobile app of the central government, services related to the issuance of driving licences have also been made available online in addition to those mentioned above.

All applications for a driving licence may be submitted online using the Parivahan portal or mobile app, according to Pradhuman Singh, RLA, Chandigarh. While the applicants must be present in person to have their photo and biometrics taken, they are still welcome to visit the RLA office without making an online appointment. For the convenience of the public, the RLA office is also aiming to eliminate the need for biometrics and photographs.
