The 54th edition IFFI to commence on November 20 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Goa

NewsThe 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will open in Goa's Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium on November 20. Anurag Singh Thakur, the union minister of information and communications, will initiate the event. The British movie "Catching Dust" will be screened first.
Nineteen films that have won awards at several international film festivals this year are arranged in the IFFI Kaleidoscope at this year's event. There will be 198 films in the "international section," with 13 world debuts, 18 international premieres, 62 Asia premieres, and 89 India premieres throughout the festival.
25 feature films and 20 non-feature films from India will be screened in the "Indian Panorama" section. The opening films in the feature selection and non-feature selection, respectively, will be the Malayalam film "Aattam" and the Manipuri language film "Andro Dreams."
Shekhar Kapur, a well-known director, will chair the 54th IFFI jury. In the meanwhile, producers Jerome Paillard, Catherine Dussart, and Helen Leake, together with Spanish cinematographer Jose Luis Alcaine, will make up the five-person judging panel.
The chairman of the five-person jury for the IFFI's best online series (OTT) category, a new addition to the awards show, will be filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.
Furthermore, Michael Douglas, the Hollywood actor and producer, will receive the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award this year. In addition to innumerable other accolades, he has won two Oscars, five Golden Globes, a Primetime Emmy, and more.
Along with many other Bollywood celebs, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Nushratt Bharucha, and others will perform at the star-studded opening ceremony. Sara Ali Khan, AR Rahman, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, and Hollywood star Catherine Zeta Jones will also be attending the nine-day film festival. Ayushmann Khurrana and music composer Amit Trivedi will perform at the closing ceremony on November 28.
