Tehran announced the initiation of a 15-day visa-free policy for Indian tourists

According to a statement released by the Iran Embassy, Tehran announced on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the start of a 15-day visa-free regime for Indian visitors visiting the nation. The new directive permits Indian nationals to go to Iran with regular passports once every six months for a maximum of 15 days, with no possibility of extension.

It added that only people visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran for tourism are eligible for the visa waiver. “If Indian nationals wish to stay for a longer period or make multiple entries within six months require other types of visas, they must obtain the necessary visas through the respective representations of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India," stated the statement.

Indian people who enter the country solely through the air border are particularly covered by the visa abolition described in it, according to the clearance. Iran is the most recent nation to provide Indian visitors entry without a visa in recent months. Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Thailand have similarly loosened their visa requirements for visitors from India.
