Chandrakant Patil, the state's minister for higher and technical education as well as the district guardian for Pune, has revealed plans to build a cutting-edge classical dance complex there. The higher education department and district planning development committee would contribute cash to the project, which will be built on four acres of the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) campus, the minister said on Sunday.
A total of 225 crore rupees would be needed to build the dance complex including theatre, and for the first phase, 25 crore rupees have been allocated by the district planning development committee (10 crore) and the state department of higher and technological education (15 crore).
"The remaining funds will be cleared through the state department of higher and technical education and SPPU," he stated.
