Southern Railway will operate 60 special train services for the Deepavali this year; planned in 12 sections to clear the passenger rush

NewsFor this year's Deepavali celebration, the Southern Railway will run around sixty special train services. To accommodate the influx of passengers expecting to go to their hometowns in different regions of the State as well as the neighbouring States of Kerala and Karnataka, twelve sections of special trains have been scheduled. The Southern Railway said in a news release that it will run the sixty special trains on the main lines that link the sectors of Tirunelveli and Nagercoil, Coimbatore and Mengaluru, and Kochuveli and Bengaluru, among other places.
The 60 services that will be offered are as follows: 11 services between Chennai and Nagercoil in Chennai; 8 services between Chennai and Tirunelveli in Chennai; 4 services between Kochuveli-Bengaluru and Kochuveli in Chennai; 6 services between Chennai and Santragachi in Chennai; 6 services between Chennai and Bhubhaneshwar in Chennai; 6 services between Nagercoil and Bengaluru in Nagercoil; 6 services between Chennai and Tirunelveli in Chennai; 6 services between Nagercoil and Bengaluru; 6 services between Nagercoil and Bengaluru in Chennai; 3 services between Nagercoil and Mengaluru in Chennai; and 1 service between Ernakulam and Dhanbad.
The Southern Railway's lines will be served by 36 special train services that the other zonal railroads have also said will be operating for the Deepavali holiday. On Thursday, even though it is a non-service day, the Southern Railway will conduct special Vande Bharat trains in the Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore Sector. On November 9, at 6 a.m., the special Vande Bharat (train number 06067) would depart from Chennai Egmore and arrive in Tirunelveli at 2.15 p.m.; on the return trip, the VB (train number 06068) would leave Tirunelveli at 3 p.m. and arrive in Egmore at 11.15 p.m.
