Solar-powered traffic lights in Chennai were officially inaugurated by Avadi Police Commissioner

Solar-powered traffic lights were officially inaugurated on Monday by Avadi Police Commissioner A. Arun. Four completely autonomous solar-powered traffic signal lights have been built and turned on at the intersections of Ayapakkam Road, Ambattur Estate 2nd Main Road, Cholambedu Road and School Road on C.T.H. Road, and Ambattur Estate 1st Main Road. In addition to this installation, three further new lights will shortly be put in place at Telephone Exchange Junction, the intersection of Third Main Road and Second Main Road, and the VGN Road and C.T.H. Road junction.
