Second season in the Nilgiris was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister at the Government Botanical Garden

NewsTamil Nadu's Tourism Minister, K. Ramachandran, officially opened the winter travel season, on Friday, September 29, 2023. It is often referred to as the second season in the Nilgiris, at the Government Botanical Garden (GBG) in Udhagamandalam. He told reporters that more than 21,500 potted, blooming plants had been placed strategically to emphasise the call to "Go Green" among the public. In the meanwhile, 7,500 plants in all were planted to honour the Chandrayaan-3 moon expedition. The arrangements, he claimed, would be in place for the next month.
The Minister claimed that since the year began, 21 lakh people have visited the GBG, and he anticipates that during the second season, 3 lakh people would do the same.
The State, after Maharashtra, got the second-highest number of tourists in India, according to Mr. Ramachandran, who also stated that attempts are being made to make the State the top tourism destination. He said that one such effort initiated by the Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was the newly announced Tamil Nadu Tourism Policy 2023
