M.B. Rajesh, the local self-government minister, stated here on Sunday that innovative schemes should be allowed to be imaginatively implemented by local organisations. He was addressing at the Ernakulam district panchayat's inauguration of the "Revive" project and a convention of "Mikavu" and "Kiranam" programme beneficiaries.
When it comes to the correct disposal of waste materials, the minister declared that e-waste would take precedence. The district panchayat's "Revive" campaign is a novel concept in this respect. He demanded that society adjust its attitudes towards the disposal of trash.
The objective is to establish conditions that prevent garbage from being transported to Brahmapuram. The amount of rubbish being transported to the facility has now decreased from 180 tonnes per day to 50 tonnes per day. The minister also reminded the crowd that sorting rubbish was the most crucial factor in waste disposal. N.S.K. Umesh, the district collector, attended the event as the main guest.
