Responsible Tourism Mission under Kerala Tourism makes it to the Global List of Case Studies of the UNWTO

NewsThe United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has included the Kerala Tourism Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission to its Global List of Case Studies.
Kerala Tourism has been successful in maintaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UNWTO while also boosting the tourism business in the State, according to a statement issued here on Tuesday. Kerala has been noted for utilising regional resources and goods to enhance RT destinations, finding ways to meet its goals in the process of achieving the SDGs. Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas congratulated the State RT Mission on their achievement, pointing out that Kerala has long been receiving praise from throughout the world for their efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable travel.
With its Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve project, Maharashtra is the only other Indian state included on the list, which also included Kerala's RT Mission among its seven G20 members. Kerala RT was chosen for the Special Dashboard on the basis of the State's efforts to promote tourism in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. Remarkably, the UNWTO commendation follows the Kerala RT Mission's receipt of the esteemed Global Award, which recognises the efficacious promotion of sustainable and women-inclusive projects within the State.
The International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT) and the Responsible Tourism Partnership established the award, which is given in the "Best for Local Sourcing - Craft and Food" category.
